I had something totally different planned for today but as I was taking my daughter to school today something else hit me…
Last year Jordan started asking me to take her to school in the mornings. I grumbled about it at first. The bus stops right across the street from our house. Really, drive you?! About a month in though I realized that I was enjoying that short drive to school. A few extra minutes to talk but more importantly what she was listening to on the radio to start her morning. The kids know in the car it’s usually tuned to WPER, the local comtemporary Christian station. It makes me smile listening to her sweet little voice sing along in the mornings to her favorite songs. And I know that she is going to school with a positive message and thoughts in her head. This morning we listened to I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe. It is one of my all time favorites and gives me goosebumps EVERY. TIME. MercyMe will be in concert at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge on April 20th @ 7:00. So for today’s gift, I would like to give someone two tickets to the concert in Woodbridge. One for you and one for a friend, spouse, signficant other, me…(no, just kidding about the me part! :))
I hope their music will bless you as it has blessed me. If you would like to go, just leave a comment below. I will draw a winner tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 8:00pm. Have a great day!
LeslieHi Paige! I’m not leaving a comment to be entered into the drawing since I live in Jacksonville, but rather to say how sweet this post was. You have such amazing children. I remember meeting them a few years ago when you were visiting your mom and you all came to a yard sale we were having to raise funds for my son who’s battling cancer. Both of your children donated from their own allowance and did it with a smile. They are precious and you are doing such a wonderful job raising them!! I enjoyed reading your post.
PaigeLeslie – thank you so much for your sweet note. 🙂 Please know I still follow your son’s progress on fb and pray for him and your family.
Chris PearsonI’ll go!!
JessicaThank you sharing this story! I have also been driving my kids to school each morning and have found the extra time a blessing in disguise. Listening to PER each morning helps my family and I realize there is so much more that God has given to us. We have His love, acceptance, and grace! “I Can Only Imagine” reminds us that He is good and one day we will meet Him. We can give thanks to The Lord each day as we patiently await that amazing moment. Thank you for the uplifting post!
PaigeThank you Jessica for sharing your story as well! And guess what? I have two tickets to the MercyMe concert for you. I will be in touch! 🙂
