I am a Fredericksburg Virginia senior photographer who works with teens and high school seniors in Fredericksburg, Stafford and surrounding areas. Thanks for visiting!
Last month I had an amazing opportunity to attend the Evoke Retreat with Holli True at the gorgeous Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Washington. I “met” Holli through her online mentoring program several years ago and was immediately drawn to her natural, authentic style. At a time when I was struggling to find the voice and brand for my photography business, Holli helped me figure it all out and shape that into what is Paige Pearson Photography today. You can read more about that here: Embrace Your Beauty
When the Evoke Retreat was announced I knew I had to be there! I was a little nervous about flying all the way across the country but excitement quickly took over instead. It was such an amazing weekend to spend with the most caring, supportive and talented photographers. And Holli is an amazing teacher! She shares from her heart and I really appreciated her openness and honesty. We learned so much, had the most beautiful and kind teen girls to photograph and the scenery wasn’t too bad either. 🙂 Let me just say that I have never been to the Pacific Northwest (PNW) and it is gorgeous! (If you are ever in that area be sure to visit Multnomah Falls.) The Skamania Lodge was the perfect resort – situated on 175 wooded acres and surrounded by the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Each morning we had a gorgeous view of mountains and water through huge floor to ceiling windows that covered one side of the main lodge. Not a bad way to spend the morning enjoying some tea!
We had three photo shoots during the Evoke Retreat and for each I worked to try something new or approach the way I photograph a little differently. It was so much fun to just shoot for me and do something creatively different from my usual. Here are a couple of the lovely models from our first shoot. I edited these images with my usual bright, clean style but also played with some different edits – including a matte and black and white look that I love!
