You may have noticed that I hadn’t returned to “Food Friday” for awhile, but I lost my excitement for a time when we had to swap diets as a family. My husband had been battling some health issues, and with a switch to a gluten free lifestyle came a challenge. At first, I was excited and intrigued; poring over cookbooks and blogs searching for recipes to delight my family. But after a bit, and with two picky eaters and the craziness of sports, school, and work, I became overwhelmed and bored. I relied on just a few favorites that were quick and easy to prepare.
Recently, we have been able to go back to a regular diet. (Hello pizza!!!) With our backyard garden in full swing and the local farmer’s market opening, I am excited about the fresh fruit and veggies and local foods that we will be able to get. My favorite cooking magazines have arrived recently and are full of delicious recipes with seasonal foods that I look forward to trying!
As I was going through some old images recently, I found these taken at the Charleston Farmer’s Market several years ago. What amazing textures and colors? A treat for the eyes (and the taste buds!). Enjoy these images, and hopefully they will inspire you to fall back in love with food, as I have.
If you’re interested in seeing my other images (I am much more than just a senior photographer!), you can tune into my full website here.
