Each year during January and February, I take some time off from photo shoots. During these winter months, the weather is often unpredictable and not as pretty as spring or fall, which gives me free time to use for planning. I use the time to reflect on the previous year, make plans for the coming year, and prepare taxes (oh what fun that is!) As I look back, I can’t believe it has been 10 years! In March of 2006, I opened my doors as Simple Expressions Photography and it has been such an incredible journey! I have made some changes along with way (including a name change to Paige Pearson Photography) and have grown so much, both personally and professionally. I have been blessed to work with incredible families, children and high school seniors along the way. I have also made a circle of amazing photography friends that are such an important part of who and where I am today. Thank you so much to all of you!
Several years ago, I began to feel drawn to focusing more on teens and high school seniors as my primary clients. I love chatting about their lives and future plans, and capturing this wonderfully exciting time in their lives! As my own daughter grows older, I think about how I want her to feel as a teenager. How I hope and pray she will always embrace that very unique and special light and spirit inside of her, and that she will shine it brightly for those around her.
This is how I want each and every one of the girls I photograph to feel. I want each of them to be confident and know how beautiful and special she is in her own way. I want her to embrace that unique beauty…be proud and confident of it! And this is what Paige Pearson Photography is, embracing that beauty! Recently I asked several girls what “Embrace your Beauty” means to them. I love their responses:
“I think embracing your beauty means accepting yourself the way you were created, inside and out, and being fully comfortable and confident in your own skin.” – Emma
“Be who you are…Everyone is different, so embrace your difference!” – Cassidy
“With the rise of social media, there is constant pressure for people to look a certain way. Many scramble to adhere to what they believe society expects of them. However… I believe it is important for a girl to establish her sense of self and realize what she believes is beautiful. Nobody can tell her that she is wrong, for she is the one who decides what “beautiful” even is.” – Ashley
“Everyone is different so don’t be afraid to show off what makes you you!” – Jordan
What does “Embrace your Beauty” mean to you?
Be sure to stay tuned! To celebrate 10 years in business I am planning some fun surprises coming soon!
