We are just over a month into the new year, and around this time of year, I always get the itch to freshen up my wardrobe. Maybe it’s because spring is on it’s way, but I love checking out fresh colors and pieces to add a little pep to my existing closet. I recently asked Tracye (you may remember her from Tra Chic Boutique), to guide us through new trends and colors for my senior clients (and the rest of us, who are ahem, not in high school anymore!) Here’s some of her tips for including some of the hottest colors into your wardrobe updates: “Some of my favorite colors for spring are:
Persimmon
Dark Teal
and of course, Burgundy which has become a fast staple. Also making an appearance this spring are soft palettes like Hydrangea and Lemon Chiffon. The theme for Spring is “More is More”…some trends to watch out for are puffy-neck bows, embroidery, embellishments, lamés, layers and retro shapes. Also in are sporty fashions in lux fabrics”. One example of the sport trend can be found here, where Forever 21 has branched out into affordable but chic activewear (these may not work for senior photos, but they are super cute!)
We also found great examples of the upcoming trends like pastels and retro swing dresses at some of the shops below. I love Francesca’s because of their affordable fashions and current trends. Right now, they have a ton of pastels with lace accents (see left photo), and any of their cute dresses would be so cute in a senior session. They have a very polished, southern feel to their styles.
