I absolutely love when I get to give back in the community, and I love supporting organizations that do that as well. I was excited when my good friend, Emily of Emily Weiss Photography, invited me to be part of the photography team for Race for Every Child that supports Children’s National Health System. Founded in 1870, they are a 330-bed facility that caters specifically to children and their families. They also offer families resources like music and art programs to make the stay easier. They see nearly half a million children a year, and offered over $89 million dollars in uncompensated care last year, making sure every child has access to life-saving surgeries and treatments.
Each year, the Race for Every Child rallies the Washington Metropolitan area together to promote healthy lifestyles, fundraise for this amazing organization, and include families of all demographics in wellness activities. There is live entertainment, a children’s run, and local blood banks have mobile units available for donations. It is a colorful, fun day, and was a delight to photograph…look at all those smiling children! The race was on October 31, 2015, in Freedom Plaza, which meant there were plenty of adorable costumes to see as well. The work this great place is doing is irreplaceable and so valuable in our community. To learn more, visit Race for Every Child and get involved.
I love doing event photography, and would love to find out how to help take your corporate event or fundraiser to the next level with beautiful, crisp photos for your website or marketing materials.
